BullySafe
A Systems Approach to Reducing Bullying Behavior
by Franklin Rubenstein, Ph.D.

 Grades 5 to 8

Bullying involves the entire school community: bullies, victims, and bystanders. And everyone has a role in stopping it.

Adopting a systems approach, this card game teaches concrete, nonviolent skills that can be used by bullies, victims, or bystanders. Unlike other bullying games, it stresses the potentially positive role that bystanders can play, and it gives bullies alternative ways to achieve their goals (e.g., status or popularity). Players use these skills as they respond to Situation Cards, earning tokens when they come up with sound advice.

Played competitively or cooperatively, this game brings kids together to solve the problem of bullying. For 2 to 5 players or teams.
