Social Skills Picture Book CD (FH-13A) NO LONGER AVAILABLE

The Social Skills Picture Book
by Jed E. Baker, Ph.D.

The Social Skills Picture Book
People with autism often have language and attention issues that impair their ability to learn from verbal explanations alone. This picture book depicts, step by step, children demonstrating various social skills. Each skill is illustrated sequentially, similar to a cartoon strip. Photos of children in social situations are combined with text and cartoon bubbles indicating what the children are saying--and sometimes what they're thinking as well. Both the right way and the wrong way to act are shown, along with explanatory text. Beneficial to youngsters who have trouble with auditory/language processing, abstract thinking, or sustained attention, this book breaks social skills into more concrete steps that children grasp.

The Social Skills Picture Book CD is now available. It includes the 200 pictures in the book, but no text. Perfect for classroom use, the CD brings the images in the book to life and can be magnified onto an LCD screen or displayed on a computer screen.

The Social Skills Picture Book for High School and Beyond
The Social Skills Picture Book for High School and Beyond uses the same format of visual learning as the original, but addresses more sophisticated situations, including peer conflicts, dating, employment, and classroom situations.  The age-appropriate content and pictures of teenagers make this softcover book ideal for older students.
