Each of these volumes-one for elementary students and one for secondary students-offers a ready-to-use curriculum that teaches kids how to recognize potentially violent situations and how to handle conflicts peacefully. Fifty lessons and associated activities focus on real-life problems involving anger control, managing threatening situations, gang-related activities, stimulant use, relationships, peer pressure, tolerance, stress, and other issues often linked to violence.
Each lesson includes a specific behavioral objective, skill components, a demonstration of the skill, behavioral rehearsal, practice, activities to promote independent use of the skill, and suggestions for reinforcing the skill throughout the school year. All activities can be easily photocopied for repeated use.
